Autism: The challenges and Opportunities: 1st June 2016 Manchester Conference Centre, Manchester

Developed in association with Autism Together, the 2nd annual Autism conference develop a better understanding of the needs of autistic people, experiences of those with autism and insight into services available. Autism affects over half a million families in the UK. Since the 1990s there’s been a surge in reported cases, attributed to greater awareness and better diagnosis, although more recently numbers have levelled off. However, areas which still need to be addressed include diagnostics, promoting independence, awareness and education.

The program will focus on life stages (childhood, adolescence, & transition to adulthood, focusing on key challenges such as diagnosis, education, SEN, family and social situations, employment, identity, and more.
